We let a second generation of electrical entrepreneurs shine bright with a buzzing, out-of-the-ordinary word logo and revamped their recognizable brand mark to honor the company’s long legacy.

Welec

A family business specializing in electro-technical solutions. It was founded in 1991 by Willy Eyckmans and is run today by his sons Jef and Jan. The brothers came knocking on our door with one question: to create a fresh brand identity that honors their father’s legacy and makes the company future-ready and stand out in the sea of sameness.

Word mark, icons, and pop-culture references

For this, we created a full custom word mark that’s reminiscent of the original lightning bolt logo and captures its visual essence with sharp edges and geometrical shapes. We redesigned the lightning bolt as a contemporary icon, pattern, or visual element in the new brand, and we added pop-culture references to introduce a spark in an otherwise very technical branch. Because with great power comes great electric wiring.
