What do you do when you’re a purebred hospitality entrepreneur who’s been running a popular – yeah, we would almost say legendary – Italian restaurant in the heart of The Kempen in the same building and interior for so many years? If you’re anything like Chris Maes from Il Forno, you would tear it down, build it up again from scratch, and ask us to design the interior, rebrand, and coordinate the project.
Spatial experience to match culinary magic
At Il Forno, we successfully combined the two primary components of any successful restaurant, besides quality dishes: functionality and experience. We soaked a cleverly designed space that allows for fast and easy movement in a luxurious atmosphere by syncing Italian Travertine stone with brute steel, messing, and touches of gold to create a spatial experience that does justice to the culinary magic served every day.
